A new district is being built in Kempten that combines natural living with urban quality of life. Located directly on Engelhaldepark, Parkstadt Engelhalde offers green retreats – and short distances to everything that makes everyday life pleasant. Between Engelhaldepark and Leonhardstraße, a diverse residential ensemble of multi-family houses and townhouses is unfolding – nestled in spacious green areas and connected by stepfree paths. Green communal areas create space for socialising and relaxation – in an almost carfree environment. A local supplier and other services ensure everyday convenience. Car sharing and the ring bus connection complement the mobility concept – for a life that makes you independent.
The four buildings in the second construction phase are individually designed in terms of both floor plan and façade design, while at the same time being characterised by common guiding principles. In keeping with the specific locations and orientations towards the diverse surroundings of Parkstadt, but also within the group of four, great importance was attached to the precise formulation of the building volumes, floor plans and façade elements – such as window formats and balcony and loggia arrangements. The common design principles are based on the selection of high-quality materials for the façades, such as plaster surfaces, the use of ceramics and balcony cladding, as well as a coordinated colour scheme.
The group of buildings frames a shared green interior area that extends to Engelhaldepark, allowing all four buildings to benefit from the park landscape.
